Melissa (Day) Crawley

 

Melissa Crawley, 34, Lincoln, died Jan. 13, 2002, in a local hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Riverwood Baptist Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ron Rich officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Glencoe Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and one hour prior to services at the church.

Melissa was born Feb. 12, 1967, in Bismarck. She was raised on the family farm, and attended schools in McKenzie through the eighth grade. She then attended Simle Middle School and Century High School, where she graduated in 1985. She attended Jamestown College and graduated in 1990 with degrees in sociology, history, psychology and political science.

She married George Crawley on June 24, 1994, in Bismarck. She worked at the Manchester House, caring for troubled kids, and recently at West Central Service Center as a case manager.

Melissa was a loving, caring person who shared her gifts and generous attitude with everyone she knew. Her smile and loving, caring spirit will be missed by all, and she will never be forgotten. When talking with her parents, at the end of every conversation, it was "I love you, Mom," "I love you, Dad."

Her faith in Jesus Christ showed in her life of service to others. She encouraged her kids in their church activities, and helped with all the kids at church. She loved her children and husband, and her life revolved around them.

She is survived by her husband, George; her children, Justin, Makayla and George, all of Lincoln; her parents, Rubin and Betty Day, her brother, David, and her nephew, Dusty, all of Moffit; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Evelyn Crawley, Fayetteville, N.C.
